This was in a box of items from the estate of a 98 year old lady along with lots of old cabinet card photos. Too pretty to toss. The acrylic beads are attached to a black ribblon that was removed from something (lamp possibly) and was saved. I have too many projects going right now so I decided to pass this on for now to someone with the time to come up with a creative use!
