More about this item

This was from the estate of Marian Wright Power May 1, 1880- July 25, 1969
A coloratura soprano who performed under the name of Marian Wright Powers, "Mame" as she was known to her family, had a varied repertoire including classical, opera, folk, and popular songs, and performed special programs on seasonal or special subject themes (ie. Native American, women composers, etc.).

The items I will be listing from this estate were purchased from another buyer. This gown is lovely and as the photos show there are brown spots. I did not attempt to treat these due to their age but someone could possibly remove these spots with knowledge of treating antique fabrics. In remarkably good condition. There is a label sewn inside that say 84.1.1891. Some of these may have been property of a museum at some point. This gown is 9" from shoulder to shoulder. 25" from shoulder to hem and 11" across the bodice. It has  embroidery and pleated bodice.  Please message if you have questions and thanks for looking!
